What is 2Seeds?
The 2Seeds Network is a rapidly-growing 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to fighting hunger in needy African communities. 2Seeds selects, trains, and mentors Project Coordinators who work with our African partners in the local community to jointly develop customized programs that sustainably improve food and income security by working with and providing grant support to local communities. For example, last year’s Magoma Project helped to organize a working, best-practice, ‘living classroom’ farm associated with a local school in order to cultivate the school as a community center teaching agricultural productivity, community, responsibility, and nutrition as well as providing food and resources to the students.
This year Kelly Trop will be working with 2Seeds as a Project Coordinator for the Kijungumoto Project. Along with Kate Hyder and Lizzy Eze, she’ll spend 9 months researching, designing, implementing, and running a project that meets the food and income security needs of the village of Kijungumoto, Tanzania, and which makes good use of the community’s particular resources.
